Arts Alliance Media is teaming with Shakespeare’s Globe Theater in London to distribute films of its performances to theaters in the U.K., Ireland and the U.S.

More than 250 U.S. cinemas are onboard to showcase the Shakespeare in Cinema series, beginning this month, through NCM Fathom.

Four plays — “The Merry Wives of Windsor”; “Henry IV” (parts 1 and 2), starring Roger Allam; and “Henry VIII” — will initially screen through the venture.

“With the advent of new technology, it is now possible to see and hear theatrical productions in the cinema with a wonderful sharpness and clarity,” said Shakespeare’s Globe artistic director Dominic Dromgoole. “We are delighted that these productions will be finding new audiences who can experience Globe shows as if they were in the building.”

“Henry IV Part I” will be shown as part of the Shakespeare series.
