Impactist: the varied & awesome collaborative work of married directors Kelly Meador & Daniel Elwing

Went out exploring for something new for my eyes to indulge in.  Came across the following video: Parallelostory.  Enjoyed it enough to keep looking through the creators’ other material.  What did I find?  So . . . much . . . awesomeness.  They create work that is so different and magnetic.  The first video I watched was nothing like some of the other videos of theirs I watched — and THAT to me — is creative deliciousness!

Allow me to introduce to you: Impactist.

Impactist is the collaborative work of married directors Kelly Meador and Daniel Elwing. Located in Portland, Oregon, we shoot film, make music, draw on paper, and whatever else we decide a project requires of us.

So, here is a brief sampling of some of their work.  Enjoy! :)

All content and audio created by Kelly Meador & Daniel Elwing.

Spend a couple minutes in the multiverse and you may find it comfortable enough to participate in your own Parallelostory, which is just hip meta-universe slang for “parallel love story”.  But remember, this is only one of an infinite number renderings of the same story that your dimensional alternates will have already viewed, are viewing, or will view.

Or not at all.

You can make more words with your face than with your mouth. So you’ll hear more with your eyes than you can see with your ears.

Promo for the title track off of our Open Your Face and Make Words EP
available here:

Handmade, scratch that… Finger-made sampler for our Hello Neighbor EP. Since most people will listen to the tracks on their iPod, we thought it appropriate to animate a small promo using the same device. Made on an iPod, for your iPod.

The neighboring locations illustrated and animated by finger include the Clarno Palisades, Willamette Valley knolls, John Day River, and the Summer Lake basin.

. . . so much awesomeness . . . :)

with passion & gratitude — jennifer
